HOW CAN I START THE KETO DIET?
Welcome! Now as the title suggests I assume you’re here to learn about how you can start your very own person successful keto diet journey! If you stick around, I will guide you through a few basic steps that you can follow to kick start your very own keto diet! Okay so to start off, I’m going to briefly run you through what a keto diet is!
What is a keto diet?
The keto diet is essentially a high-fat, low-carb diet, which basically is the process of restricting carbohydrate intake until the body enters a state known as ketosis. Ketosis is a metabolic process that occurs when your body converts fat into compounds called Ketones, which is then used as a main form of energy in the body aside from carbohydrates and sugars. Now let us move into how you can start your very own keto diet!
Starting your very own keto diet
- Firstly, you have to make sure to EAT THE RIGHT FOOD. This step alone has helped many individuals improve their health drastically and lose weight. How you may be wondering? Well by replacing carbohydrate intake with keto-friendly foods you will unquestionably be consuming fewer calories than before which will therefore lead you to lose weight and improve health! Some examples of keto-friendly foods include, meats, low-carb vegetables, high-fat dairy, nuts, seeds, berries and sweeteners.
- Secondly, you have to make sure to EAT THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF KETO-FRIENDLY FOODS. Despite step 1 being very effective eating the right kind of food combined with eating the right amount of keto-friendly foods will surely help further increase the chances of getting what you want. As a general rule of thumb, it is important to keep in mind that; 1) When we ear fewer calories that we use throughout the day, we lose weight. 2) When we eat more calories than we use throughout the day we gain weight. A good way to figure out how much you should be eating whilst on a keto diet would be to, check your results and adjust food intake from there. This can be done by measuring your results every 3-5 weeks and changing the amount of fat you consume daily based on what you find. However, it is very important that you remember to keep your carbohydrate intake below 35 grams, eat enough protein to maintain muscles and eat enough fat to meet weight goals.

So it’s pretty simple, you experience keto-flu as a biproduct of drastically reducing your carbohydrate intake. Which results in many changes throughout the body known as keto-flu! When a person has keto-flue, they may experience flu-like symptoms, fatigue and mental fogginess. Fortunately, It can be cured easily by drinking more water, increasing healthy fat intake such as MCT and increasing sodium, potassium and magnesium intake.
